What Notta does well

Notta is a polished per-seat meeting suite: real-time transcription, calendar and meeting-platform integrations, AI summaries that flow into Notion, Slack, and a long list of CRMs, apps on every platform, and an on-device transcription mode that is a genuinely privacy-forward feature. It publishes SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification, and it even sells a physical recorder. For a team living in its 58 supported languages and wanting a meeting workflow per seat, it’s a credible choice.

The quotas. Notta’s published free plan allows 120 transcription minutes across recordings of at most 3 minutes each; paid tiers raise the numbers and the top tiers lift the minute cap, but monthly file-upload and AI-summary quotas stay, and every plan caps a single recording at 5 hours. Hushscript meters nothing monthly. Prepaid packs from $1.99 (about $0.50 per hour on the largest) are spent when you transcribe, minutes stay valid for a year with any activity resetting the clock, files run to 10 hours, and no count of uploads or summaries resets on the first of the month.

The storage. Notta’s help center describes transcription data as “permanently stored on Notta’s servers” unless you delete it – and if a subscription lapses, its own documentation says you “can view the first 3 minutes” of each transcript on the free tier. Hushscript deletes the transcription audio the moment the transcript is ready, stores the transcript encrypted at rest under retention windows you choose, and never gates your existing transcripts behind a renewal.

The disclosure. On AI training, Notta’s public policies are silent beyond a narrow Google-integration carve-out; we could not find a statement either way about customer recordings. Hushscript’s answer is one sentence: recordings are never used to train models. On languages: 58 marketed against roughly 99 detected automatically.

Four things that aren’t on the price grid

The quotas are what a pricing grid can show. These are what it can’t.

What an hour costs, plainly. Five packs, and that’s the whole price list: $1.99 for 45 minutes (about $2.65 an hour), $5.99 for 5 hours (about $1.20), $12.99 for 15 hours (about $0.87), $19.99 for 30 hours (about $0.67), $49.99 for 100 hours ($0.50). There is no tier to outgrow and no seat to add; minutes stay valid for a year, and any transcription or purchase resets that window.

What happens to the recording. The transcription audio is deleted the moment the transcript is ready, not on a schedule you have to remember. The transcript is encrypted at rest under a retention window you set (keep until deleted, or auto-delete after 7, 30, 90, or 365 days), deletion returns a downloadable receipt, private mode returns a password-protected archive and saves no transcript at all, and EU, EEA, Swiss, and UK audio is processed in the EU. None of it is a plan tier.

What the engine knows before it starts. Saved dictionaries carry your product names, client names, and acronyms into every job, bulk-imported from a CSV or TSV with spelling variants attached to each canonical term. Saved prompt presets carry recurring instructions, one-off keyterms and a one-off prompt handle a single recording, and medical mode swaps in a model built for clinical language.

What you get after the transcript. One free Insights run per transcript, all-in: summaries, action items, decisions, open questions, quotes with transcript evidence, chapters, speaker topics, subject clusters, terminology findings, and a fully rewritten Cleaned transcript in its own tab beside the Original.
