Our transcription pricing is pay-as-you-go: buy prepaid minutes for the projects you have, with no subscription or monthly fee. Unused minutes carry forward, and your first 30 minutes are free.

Use an alternative payment method available in your country and the 30 minutes arrive with your first purchase. After that, you pay only for the minutes you use.
What the workflow includes
- Speaker labels on every transcript.
- Transcript editor with segment edits, speaker rename, tags, find and replace, and revert.
- All Insights, including cleanup, are free and generated together.
- Saved dictionaries, saved prompt presets, one-off keyterms, one-off custom prompts, speaker detection, and multichannel controls. Optional medical mode and translation targets show additional billed minutes before upload.
- All 21 export formats (TXT, SRT, VTT, CSV, TSV, Markdown, HTML, RTF, XML, JSON, DOCX, PDF, XLSX, ODS, ODT, ASS, TTML, SBV, LRC, FCPXML, or EDL), plus password-protected .husharchive, with no watermark.
- Privacy controls by default: audio deletion, encrypted transcript storage, retention settings, and private mode for password-protected archive results without saved transcripts.
- Completed purchases include a stable receipt number and a downloadable PDF payment receipt in Billing.
- No plan-based daily/monthly allowance. Recordings can run up to 10 hours, with no file-size limit – large video and audio are prepared in the browser. Service safeguards apply.
AI features pricing
- The complete Insights result is free: generate it once, then review cleanup suggestions in the Edit tab and apply only the changes you approve.
- When you choose Generate Insights, one optional free run creates summaries, actions, decisions, open questions, quotes, chapters, speaker topics, subject clusters, export suggestions, terminology and profanity findings, and cleanup against the current transcript revision.

Frequently asked questions
How does the referral program work?

Can I download a receipt for a minute purchase?
Yes. Completed purchases appear in Billing with a stable receipt number and a downloadable Hushscript payment receipt. It confirms the recorded payment and is not a tax invoice.
How much does a minute cost?
From about $0.01 on the largest pack, up to ~$0.044 on the starter. The bigger the pack, the lower the rate.
How do I get my 30 free minutes?
Add a payment method. With a card, we place a temporary $1 hold (released right away, never charged) and credit 30 free minutes instantly. With an alternative payment method, the 30 minutes arrive with your first purchase.

Why do you need a card?
It keeps abusers off the paid AI so we can offer real free minutes. A card is verified with a temporary $1 hold: released right away, not a charge. A card isn't required; alternative payment methods work too.
Do my minutes expire?
Yes – after 180 days without a completed transcription or minute purchase. Either activity resets the window, and we email you before expiry.
Is there a subscription?
No. You only ever pay for packs you choose to buy.
Do Insights use my transcription balance?
No. Transcription, medical mode, and selected translation targets can use minutes; the complete Insights result uses none.
What's included?
Everything in the transcript workflow: speaker labels, editor, tags, merged recordings, saved transcription context, all export formats, password-protected archives, privacy controls, and the same file limits whether you buy the smallest or largest pack. All Insights, including cleanup, are free and generated together. Only medical mode and selected translation targets add billed minutes.
Can I get a refund?
No. Minutes are delivered to your balance instantly at purchase, so all sales are final and non-refundable except where the law gives you a non-waivable right. Failed transcriptions return their minutes automatically, and the 30 free minutes let you test the quality before you buy. Genuine billing errors are always corrected: support@hushscript.com.
How are Insights billed?
They are not billed. When you choose Generate Insights, one optional free run creates the complete result against the current transcript revision.
Where do I review cleanup suggestions?
Cleanup is part of the optional Insights result and appears in the Edit tab. Nothing changes until you approve it.
Do advanced options change the price?
Medical mode and translation targets do: medical mode doubles the billed minutes for that file, and each translation target adds a quarter of the transcript's length. Saved dictionaries, prompt presets, keyterms, speaker detection, and multichannel don't change the price.
