Hushscript for TeamsA firm's whole transcription workspace, one yearly fee
Team 5 is $490 a year: five seats and 600 hours of transcription included. Buy more hours as the work arrives, from $0.40 to $0.50 an hour, cheaper the more you buy in one go. Hushscript for Teams is built for firms and teams of 5 to 50; individual Hushscript stays pay-as-you-go with no subscription, for everyone else.
One feature set, four sizes
Every tier includes the same features and differs only in seats, included hours, and price. Pay yearly for two months free, or monthly at one tenth of the annual price. Prices are in USD.

Annual pays for ten months and gives two free. Included hours are ordinary pool credit: they carry forward with the rest of the pool for 365 days from the last time the pool was used, and are never an allowance that resets.
Every plan includes everything the fee adds; the tiers differ only in seats, included hours, and price.
What it actually costs a firm
Three usage patterns, priced against a Team plan and against buying the same hours one lawyer at a time on personal accounts.
| Firm | Hushscript for Teams | Personal accounts |
|---|---|---|
| 5 lawyers300 hours a year | $490 (600 included hours cover it) | about $200 on five personal accounts |
| 5 lawyers1,200 hours a year | $748 ($490 plus 600 hours at $0.43 each) | about $660 on five personal accounts |
| 10 lawyers3,000 hours a year | $1,610 ($890 plus 1,800 hours at $0.40 each) | about $1,500 on ten personal accounts |
The personal-account column assumes each lawyer buys the cheapest combination of packs for their own share of the hours; buying odd amounts in small packs costs more per hour, not less. What the annual fee buys on top of the included hours, priced on its own: custody, matters and rebilling, shared assets, oversight, retention and hold, and one invoice. For Team 5, that layer costs about $145 a year. The extra hours in the second and third rows are priced as a single top-up, because the per-hour rate falls in bands by purchase size: the same hours bought 50 at a time cost $0.50 each. Hushscript for Teams is not always the cheapest way to buy minutes for a small firm, and this page will not pretend otherwise.
Why firms pick it
Built for the size firms actually are
Team controls elsewhere hide behind seat minimums: Otter gates SSO and SCIM behind a 100-seat minimum, Notta reserves its Enterprise tier for 51 seats and up, and Rev caps its self-serve plans at 3 to 5 seats. Every control Hushscript for Teams has, from roles and custody to retention, holds, matters and usage reports, is on every plan from 5 seats, with no talk-to-sales wall. Single sign-on is not one of them yet: it is on the roadmap, and it will not sit behind a seat minimum when it ships.
A pooled hour bank, not allowances
Legal work is bursty: a deposition-heavy month, then a quiet one. Happy Scribe resets unused plan credits at the end of each billing cycle, and Fireflies sells per-seat plans with Enterprise on annual billing only. Your firm's pool is prepaid hours any member can draw on, with no per-seat meter and no allowance that expires at the end of the month. Per-member monthly caps exist if a firm wants them, and are off by default.
No bot in the room
Hushscript never joins a call. No calendar access, no meeting bot announcing itself to opposing counsel, nothing recorded that you did not record yourself. You upload a recording, it becomes a transcript, and the audio is deleted the moment the transcript is ready.
Confidentiality is the architecture
The privacy model individual users get is the one your firm gets: audio deleted after processing, transcripts encrypted at rest, EU audio processed in the EU, deletion receipts, private mode. Teams adds a workspace retention default and an optional enforced maximum: a new ceiling binds new transcripts at once, and existing ones are re-clamped after 14 days' notice.
Admins manage the account, not the work product
Workspace admins see usage, billing, and membership. The admin right on its own does not open a transcript: reading a colleague's work product takes the separate reviewer right, and every open is logged. An associate's deposition prep stays with the associate, which is how a firm's confidentiality duties actually run.
Procurement without the circus
No demo call, no sales call, no quote arriving three days later. A data processing agreement on request, a published subprocessor list, a plain-language security overview, and automated tax invoices payable by card or bank transfer. Set the workspace up yourself today; if a question needs a human, email gets an answer within one business day.
Try it before the firm commits
Plan fees and hour packs are delivered the moment payment clears, so purchases are final, exactly as they are on a personal account. That cuts both ways, so the ways to try it first are real ones.
- The free preview on this site needs no account at all. A personal account adds 30 free minutes, unlocked by signup plus a $1 card check that is released immediately. Both run your own recordings through the same engine before a workspace exists.
- Every tier has a monthly term at one tenth of the annual price. Run a month on the real thing, with real matters, and stop if it is not right.
- Plan fees and purchased hour packs are not refundable. Where the law that applies to your firm grants a right that cannot be waived, we honor it.
- Genuine billing errors are always corrected, including by refund where appropriate: email support@hushscript.com.
Who can open a transcript
Every workspace chooses a custody mode when it is created.
Private
Transcripts belong to the member who created them. No one else in the workspace can open them, including the admin. Offboarding leaves them with the member.
Firm
Transcripts a member creates while they belong to the workspace stay with the firm. The member keeps full access, and members holding the separate reviewer right can open workspace transcripts. Every reviewer session is written to the audit log, repeat opens by the same reviewer inside 15 minutes counting as one, and the member is emailed the first time each reviewer opens each transcript.
The admin right on its own does not open a transcript. Reading a colleague's work product takes the separate reviewer right, it applies in firm custody only, every reviewer session is written to the audit log (repeat opens by the same reviewer inside 15 minutes count as one), and the read is refused if the audit write fails. The member whose transcript it is gets an email the first time each reviewer opens each transcript. Switching from private to firm custody takes 14 days, with every member emailed at scheduling and at effect. Firm custody cannot switch back to private. When a member leaves, their firm-custody work is transferred to a named custodian, who must hold the reviewer right and who then holds those transcripts as their own. The admin right does not qualify: an admin who wants that work puts their own name on a reviewer row first, and the audit log records it.
Matters, usage, and rebilling
Turn on matter codes for the workspace, optionally required before upload starts. Transcripts carry a matter code and an optional client code.
A matter code and client code are metadata: visible to admins and billing in the ledger and usage reports, never accompanied by transcript content.
A usage report breaks jobs, hours, and cost down by member or by matter, and exports as a CSV, so the firm can rebill transcription as a disbursement at a rate it sets.
Shared dictionaries and presets
Dictionaries and prompt presets can belong to the workspace instead of one person. Admins and reviewers manage them, and every member sees workspace assets merged with their own, labelled by owner. Letterhead is text only: name, up to three address lines and a footer line, applied to DOCX and PDF exports when a member chooses it. No image upload in this programme.
Roles that actually separate power
Everyone in a workspace is a member. Three independent rights layer on top, and one person can hold any combination.
Admin
Manages seats, roles, and workspace settings. Never opens a member's transcript by virtue of being admin.
Billing
Manages invoices, packs, payment methods, and usage reports.
Reviewer
Only meaningful in firm custody: opens workspace transcripts, places or lifts a legal hold, and can be named custodian for a departing member's work. Every reviewer session is audited.
Any admin can grant or remove another admin's rights. A workspace always keeps at least one admin: the last one cannot be removed or have the admin right dropped.
Retention and legal hold
Keep transcripts until deleted, or auto-delete after 7, 30, 90, or 365 days, the same choices as an individual account, set as a workspace default.
An admin can lower the workspace maximum. Existing transcripts past the new ceiling are re-clamped 14 days later, with an email naming the count and the new date; held transcripts are skipped.
In firm custody, a reviewer can place a legal hold on a transcript, or on every transcript carrying a matter code. A held transcript is exempt from auto-delete, from member deletion, and from a retention re-clamp until the hold is lifted.
Security, support, and paperwork
Email support is answered within one business day, Hong Kong business hours (UTC+8), Monday to Friday.
A data processing agreement is available on request, along with a confidentiality addendum for firms that need one. The subprocessor list is published and kept current.

Why pay a yearly fee when individual Hushscript has no subscription?
Because the fee buys more than transcription: included hours, plus the firm layer around them. One tax invoice instead of a stack of card receipts, a shared pool instead of scattered personal balances, seats and roles, a retention policy you can enforce, matters and rebilling, and paperwork in the firm's name. One person with a recorder does not need any of that. Five people sharing matters do.
How is this price possible?
By not carrying the costs this market prices in: no sales team, no demo pipeline, no meeting bots, no human transcribers, and no per-seat metering to administer. Speech recognition at scale is genuinely inexpensive; extra hours past what a plan includes cost $0.40 to $0.50 each.
Can we pay monthly instead of yearly?
Yes. Every tier has a monthly price at one tenth of the annual fee, and each monthly payment grants that tier's monthly hours: 50, 100, 200, or 420. Annual pays for ten months and gives two free.
Is there really no sales call?
Really. There is nothing to demo that the free preview does not show, and nothing to negotiate that the pricing table does not state. Set the workspace up yourself, in the app, in a few minutes. If procurement needs a human, support@hushscript.com answers within one business day, in writing.
Can we pay by bank transfer?
Yes. Choose bank transfer and the system generates and emails a Hushscript tax invoice with a unique payment reference. Card payments through Stripe can auto-renew on the workspace's saved card, and any plan with auto-renew switched on gets its renewal invoice 30 days before the term ends. Leave auto-renew off and nothing is billed automatically: the plan lapses into a 30-day grace period, during which the pool still funds jobs, and paying the next invoice picks it back up.
Do included and purchased hours expire?
The whole pool is valid for 365 days from the last time it was used; any purchase or any completed job resets the clock for the entire pool. Personal credit runs on the same 365 days, measured from the last purchase.
What happens if we don't renew?
A 30-day grace period starts, and the pool still funds jobs during it. After grace the pool is frozen, not forfeited: the balance stays visible, and a successful payment unfreezes it. The 365-day validity clock keeps running while frozen, so a workspace that never renews loses the balance a year after its last activity, same as a personal account.
Can we get a refund?
No. Plan fees and hour packs land the moment payment clears, so the sale is complete at purchase and all sales are final, the same policy a personal account gets. Where the law that applies to your firm grants a refund right that cannot be waived, that still stands, and genuine billing errors are always corrected: support@hushscript.com. To try it without committing a year, start on the monthly term.
Who can see our transcripts?
Depends on the custody mode chosen at setup. Private custody: only the member who made it, ever. Firm custody: the member, plus anyone holding the separate reviewer role, and every reviewer open is logged and the member is notified the first time. The admin right on its own does not open a transcript: reading a colleague's work product takes the reviewer right, which is granted separately.
Can we track spending and rebill by matter or client?
Yes. Turn on matter codes, optionally required before upload starts. A usage report breaks hours and cost down by member or by matter and exports as a CSV, so the firm can rebill transcription as a disbursement.
Are the transcripts certified or court-admissible?
No. Hushscript produces working transcripts for deposition prep, client intake, dictation, and internal notes. Certified transcripts come from a court reporter or certified transcriptionist. Recording-consent rules are your firm's obligation and vary by jurisdiction; nothing on this page is legal advice.
Will you sign a DPA?
Yes, on request. Email support@hushscript.com and we send the data processing agreement, plus a confidentiality addendum if your firm needs one. Signing it from the workspace without asking is a later step.
Is there SSO?
Not yet. Single sign-on (OIDC first) is on the roadmap, and when it ships it will be available at every seat count, never behind a seat minimum. Today, members sign in with email and password or magic links.
Which region does our data live in?
The workspace is pinned to one region when it is created, and members' accounts live in that region. EU, EEA, Swiss, and UK audio is processed in the EU; stored transcripts are encrypted at rest everywhere.
What the market makes you buy instead
Upload-based legal transcription, on price
- Sonix: $880 a year for one seat with 480 hours included, then $275 per extra seat, per sonix.ai/pricing.
- Rev: $575.88 a year per seat on the Pro plan (annual billing), with 10,000 AI minutes a month per user, about 167 hours, capped at 5 users; five seats runs about $2,880 a year for the firm, per rev.com/pricing.
- Verbit: self-serve starts at $24 a month for 100 hours, about $0.24 an hour; Legal and custom tiers are quote-only, per verbit.ai/pricing.
- Trint: $828 a year per seat billed annually, for 2 to 5 team members, with unlimited audio and video transcriptions; five seats runs about $4,140 a year for the firm, per app.trint.com/plans.
- Hushscript for Teams: $490 a year covers 5 seats and 600 hours; extra hours run $0.40 to $0.50, and the seat count goes to 20 or uncapped.
Meeting-bot subscriptions, on privacy
- Otter's Notetaker automatically joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams meetings and needs a connected Google or Microsoft calendar, or a manual per-meeting add; the recording and transcript are retained indefinitely on the Standard and Pro plans, with a configurable retention policy only on Enterprise. Hushscript never joins a call and only ever sees a file you chose to upload.
- Fireflies' bot auto-joins calendar meetings or can be invited manually, and the recording is stored in the organization's Fireflies cloud storage; its "not used for AI training" policy is not the same as not retaining the recording. The comparison that matters against a meeting bot is not the price, it is the architecture: no bot in the room, no calendar access, and audio deleted the moment the transcript is ready.
