Summarize any video into notes you can trust
Hushscript's video summarizer turns any video or audio file into a short summary, key points, and time-stamped chapters — sitting on top of the full, speaker-labeled transcript. One free Insights run creates the complete analysis plus cleanup suggestions, which you review in the Edit tab before applying anything.

What does a video summarizer do?
A video summarizer transcribes the audio, then compresses that transcript into a short overview and a list of key points. Longer recordings can also be split into labeled chapters with timestamps, so you can jump straight to the part you need instead of watching the whole thing. The full transcript stays underneath the summary, so you can check any line against the source.
Free all-in Insights
The transcript is the base, and transcription is paid per minute. Insights then turn that transcript into an executive and detailed summary, key points, actions, decisions, open questions, follow-ups, chapters, quotes, speaker topics, subject clusters, export suggestions, terminology findings, profanity findings, and cleanup suggestions. The whole result is free and generated in one run. If you edit the transcript later, you can regenerate Insights against the new revision.
Cleanup suggestions in Edit
Cleanup arrives with the rest of Insights, but it lives where edits belong: in the Edit tab. Review each suggested correction against the original line, apply only the changes you want, or leave the transcript untouched. Hushscript never silently rewrites your words.
Private by architecture
If your file is a video, the audio is extracted in your browser before anything is sent anywhere, so the video itself never leaves your device. Only the extracted audio reaches the server, and it’s deleted the moment your transcript is saved. Transcripts and Insights are encrypted at rest, so if storage were ever exposed, what’s there is ciphertext, not your words. This applies whether you’re on the free preview or a paid transcript; the handling doesn’t change once you’ve paid.
From meeting recordings to lectures
The all-in result is most useful on long recordings: a one-hour meeting, a lecture, a multi-guest podcast, a webinar, or a stack of interview calls. Chapters become a table of contents; speaker topics show who raised what; actions and decisions turn a meeting into a follow-up list; summaries turn a lecture into study notes. You keep the full transcript underneath every result, ready for verification and editing.
Why Hushscript
Summaries, chapters, speaker topics
Get the overview, detailed summary, timestamped chapters, and speaker-topic breakdown alongside actions, decisions, quotes, subject clusters, and export suggestions — with no module chooser.
Cleanup suggestions in Edit
Choose Generate Insights when you want the optional free result. Cleanup is reviewed in Edit and changes nothing until you approve it.
One upload, every Insight
Insights run on the transcript you already have, with no re-uploading the video to add a chapter breakdown or a new summary later.
Frequently asked questions
Do summaries cost extra?
No. Transcription uses prepaid minutes, but the complete Insights result — including every summary, chapter, and cleanup suggestion — is free.
Where do I review cleanup suggestions?
Choose Generate Insights after the transcript is ready. One optional free run creates the complete revision-bound result; cleanup is reviewed in Edit and changes nothing until you approve it.
Does it work with YouTube links?
No. Hushscript transcribes files you upload, not links you paste in.
How long or large can a file be?
A recording can run up to 10 hours, with no file-size limit — large video and audio are prepared right in the browser. Your prepaid transcription balance and service safeguards apply; generating Insights uses no extra minutes.
Which languages can it summarize?
It detects the language automatically and transcribes around 99 languages, reaching top-tier accuracy in 18 (Global, British, Australian and US English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Hindi, and Arabic among them). The full list is on the Languages page.
Is my video uploaded?
No. If your file is a video, the audio is extracted in your browser first, so the video itself never uploads. Only the audio reaches the server, and it's deleted the moment your transcript is saved.
Is the video summarizer free?
You get 30 free transcription minutes unlocked by card verification (temporary $1 hold, released immediately, never charged), then pay as you go for transcription. The complete Insights result is free.
What's the difference between a summary and chapters?
The summary gives you an overview and key points. Chapters split the recording into labeled, timestamped sections so you can jump to the right moment. Insights generate both together.
