Get the quote right

Misquoting someone is expensive in any profession that runs on interviews. Every paragraph in a Hushscript transcript carries its speaker and timecode, so before a line goes into print you can jump to that moment in your own copy of the recording and hear it in context. Inline editing, find and replace, and undo history live in the same document, so corrections happen where you read.

Verbatim when it matters, readable when it doesn’t

People don’t speak in prose. A verbatim answer looks like this:

Sources and subjects stay protected

A transcription service is a strange place to leave a confidential conversation. Hushscript doesn’t keep one: the audio is deleted the moment the transcript is ready, stored transcripts are encrypted at rest, and retention is your choice, down to auto-delete schedules. Speaker labels carry no identity – leave them as Speaker 1 and 2 or rename them to pseudonyms, and that’s all an export ever shows. For material that shouldn’t touch an account at all, private mode delivers a password-protected archive instead of a saved transcript. EU, EEA, Swiss, and UK audio is processed in the EU.

Fieldwork doesn’t happen in one language.
