Cookie Policy
Revision 2
Last updated: 2026-09-03
This Cookie Policy explains how Hushscript (LW Agency Limited) uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies – such as pixels, tags, and browser local storage – work in comparable ways. We and our providers use them to keep the Service working, to remember your sign-in, to measure usage, and to measure and deliver advertising.
Our marketing website (hushscript.com)
Our marketing website uses Google Tag Manager to load third-party analytics and advertising tools, which may set cookies and collect identifiers and usage data:
- Google Analytics – measures how visitors find and use the site.
- Google Ads – measures the performance of our advertising and supports remarketing.
- Other advertising partners – depending on the campaigns we run, tags from Meta (Facebook and Instagram ads), LinkedIn, X, Microsoft Advertising, and LY Corporation (Yahoo! JAPAN) measure the performance of our advertising on those platforms.
These are analytics and advertising technologies. Where the law that applies to you requires consent for them, we will ask for it.
Our application (app.hushscript.com)
The application does not load analytics pixels, advertising scripts, analytics cookies, or any browser product-telemetry collector. Product measurement is derived from successful API requests and backend outcomes. Our API may send content-free, server-confirmed action events to Google Analytics, subject to your consent where required. These events do not include filenames, transcript text or titles, speaker names, prompts, questions, answers, form contents, or clipboard contents.
- Sign-in and preferences storage – when you sign in, the application stores a sign-in token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in, along with interface preferences and cached view state. Clearing it signs you out.
- Payment – our payment provider, Stripe, sets cookies needed to process payments securely and to help prevent fraud.
- Bot protection – Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie to tell humans from automated systems. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/turnstile-privacy-policy/.
Cookies we set ourselves
We set a small number of first-party cookies, shared across hushscript.com and app.hushscript.com where noted. They are not used to track you across other websites:
- hs_consent – your saved analytics and advertising choice (6 months, shared across our sites).
- hs_consent_required – whether your region requires prior consent, so pages apply the right default (24 hours).
- hs_geo / hs_region – your approximate country (and, in some countries, subdivision) derived from the request, used to apply the right consent default (24 hours).
- hs_locale – your language choice (6 months, shared across our sites).
Browser storage we set ourselves
Some first-party records are kept in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie. Unlike a cookie, local storage is not attached to the requests your browser makes to our servers, and it is not shared between hushscript.com and app.hushscript.com: each site keeps its own copy. Clearing your browser’s local storage removes these records.
- hs_attr_v1 (marketing website) – how you first reached us, so that a signup or purchase can be attributed to the visit that led to it. It can hold the campaign parameters on the link you arrived from (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content), the advertising click identifiers of the platforms we advertise on (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid, li_fat_id, twclid, msclkid, yclid), the identifiers our analytics and advertising tags set in their own cookies, and the referring site and the page you landed on, both with their query strings removed. It is written on your first visit and later visits do not replace it, and it stops being used after 90 days. Each part is kept only where the matching consent applies: without advertising consent the click and advertising identifiers are not stored, and without analytics consent the campaign parameters, referring site, landing page, and analytics identifier are not stored. If you withdraw a consent, the parts it covered are removed. When you move to the application, this record is passed once in the link you follow rather than through a shared cookie.
- hs_ref_v1 (both sites) – the code from a referral link you followed, kept for 90 days so that an account you create can be credited to the person who referred you. It is functional to the referral program described in our Terms of Service and is separate from the advertising record above.
- hs-theme (marketing website) – your light or dark appearance choice for the website.
The application’s sign-in token, interface preferences, and cached view state are described under “Our application (app.hushscript.com)” above.
Categories
- Strictly necessary – required for the Service to work, including sign-in storage, your saved consent choice, your language choice, your appearance choice, your referral code, payment, and bot-protection. These cannot be switched off through our Service.
- Analytics – help us understand how our website and product are used (Google Analytics).
- Advertising – measure and deliver our advertising (Google Ads and the other advertising partners listed above).
The attribution record described above spans the analytics and advertising categories, and each part of it is stored only where that category applies to you.
Your choices
Where the law applicable to a visitor requires prior consent, analytics and advertising stay off until the visitor chooses. Elsewhere, both are enabled by default. In either case, an explicit saved choice controls later visits, and we treat the browser’s Global Privacy Control signal as an advertising opt-out.
You can:
- change analytics and advertising settings at any time through the Cookie settings link in the website footer;
- control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and clear your browser’s local storage to sign out of the application and remove the records listed above;
- opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout;
- manage Google ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies or local storage may stop parts of the Service from working.
The providers behind these technologies, the data each receives, and their processing regions are listed in our Sub-processor List.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time and will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date.
