Audio Self Check

The tests take about 30 seconds. Keep this tab in front while they run, because browsers slow down background tabs. They record a test tone made inside the browser, so nothing plays through your speakers, and they never use your microphone.

Starting the tests sends anonymous results when they finish: the browser and its major version, the operating system and its major version, whether this is a phone, tablet or computer, and which audio features worked. A run that stops early also sends which step stopped. No recordings, no microphone audio, no device model, and nothing that identifies you or this device.
