How to convert video to audio

Keep Original or choose an audio format
Original is selected first. When the source track and output container are supported, it copies the audio without re-encoding. Choosing MP3, M4A (AAC), Opus, OGG (Vorbis), AC-3, E-AC-3, WMA, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, WavPack or TTA instead re-encodes the audio. A lossless output cannot bring back detail already removed from a compressed source. Check the downloaded file in the player or workflow you intend to use.
Make an audio file from MP4 or another video
An MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV or AVI can be a source if it has a readable audio track, for example MOV to WAV, MP4 to M4A or MP4 to OGG. The container and audio codec determine which path works; browser support and available device memory matter too. For the exact MP3 task, use Video to MP3. Convert locally, then download

Can I convert MP4 to audio?
Yes, when the MP4 contains an audio track the available browser path can read. The picker also lists MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI and accepts MPEG, so MKV to WAV works the same way; success depends on the container, audio codec, browser and device.
What does Original do?
Original copies a supported audio stream into a suitable audio file without re-encoding. The download's extension follows the audio codec and container. Some tracks cannot be copied or read.
Which audio formats can I choose?
