Slow down audio to catch every word
Select 0.75× to make a fast speaker easier to follow while taking notes or transcribing by ear. This is the only slower preset. If you need finer control or a slower setting, use an audio editor.
Speed up audio for a quicker listen
Choose 1.25× or 1.5× for a meeting recording or lecture you want to review faster. The 2× preset makes a recording roughly half as long, but rapid or dense speech may become difficult to understand. Try a lower preset when clarity matters.
Speed without changing pitch
A time-stretching filter aims to keep the original pitch in place while the duration changes, so voices mostly avoid the chipmunk-or-slowed effect of changing playback rate alone. It can still introduce audible artifacts, especially if you speed up songs or layered sound, or use the 2× preset.
File limits and output
Every speed change downloads as one MP3 file (see the FAQ below for the exact bitrate target). Source format and codec support vary; large or long files may be limited by your browser and device memory. Keep the source file if you may need to edit it again.
